Demo or Mock-up stage,
At this point, you should be relatively certain about the design features of your learning environment.

Here you will take the results of the previous steps and create a digital representation of the proposed learning environment design (to be sent by email or posted for review by classmates).  Your "demo" file will serve as a basis for presentation of your learning environment to your classmates.

Draw on in-class discussions of design representations and design communication strategies. Remember that your design representation and rationale will have to stand on their own when someone else reviews.  You will not be present to explain.

Your mock-up can be built in any software that allows it to be interactive (for instance, you can build a mock-up using HTML or PowerPoint with interactive links or buttons).

Remember that the emphasis is not on graphic design, you can use placeholders for any features that you are designing (for instance, you can create a box and write "here there will be an animation that illustrates...").

This kind of demo or mock-up is used in industry, following a first iteration, in order to get peer feedback.  In this course, after you receive comments and suggestions from your peers, you will have the opportunity to create a second iteration. You will improve your demo before final presentation at the end of the course. 

Building a Demo
Your demo should include all of the main screens of your learning environment, including buttons and menus.

Concentrate on creating prototypes which represent screen types (e.g. homepage, discussion forum, information page, etc.).  Create representations of possible scenarios (e.g. What happens when a learner clicks a certain button or chooses a menu option?).  Build interactions which represent the links and user experience in the learning environment.

Tip: Again, remember that the emphasis is not on graphic design but on pedagogical design.  Do not spend too much time on the graphic design.  Pay attention to functionality.
